On The Water

As a village which was only reachable by road in the 1960s, the water plays a big part of life in Tighnabruaich and there are lots of ways you can enjoy time on the water.

Take a boat trip to explore the coastline and look out for seals and porpoise with Martin and Janine at Fyne Sea Tours based at Portavadie Marina. Try a sailing lesson at Tighnabruaich Sailing School at Carry Farm. There are great options for paddle-boarding and kayaking at Tarbert, Ardentinny and Lochgoilhead. In the summer months you can take a trip ‘Doon the Watter’ from Tighnabruaich pier with The Waverley Paddle Steamer, the last ocean-going paddle steamer.
